Here’s a few exceptions to what we work on: we don’t work on paint sprayers, newer Hilti Tools, or Ego brand tools (we hope this one changes soon!)

  • Warranty covers a manufacturer’s defect. Each brand carries it’s own limited warranty and we perform services in accordance with brand’s policy. Warranty does not typically cost customers anything out of pocket.

  • Warranty covers a manufacture’s defect. A $50 deposit may be required when dropping off your tool. This deposit is refundable when the repair service is deemed covered under warranty.

  • For small tools we do not require a deposit and provide free estimates on repair. If it is more economical for you to purchase a new one, we’ll let you know so you can make the choice that works best for you!

  • Large items (requiring two hands to carry) and gas items, require a $50 non-refundable deposit. If the tool is fixed, the $50 deposit is applied to the cost of the repair. If the tool is not fixed the $50 deposit is applied towards the diagnosis of the tool. Riding mowers, gas concrete saws, and any drain cleaning machine (having been in contact with excrement) requires a $100 non refundable deposit.

Who we are…

We are a true family owned business. We have fixed over 20,000 tools in our lifetime, and over 3,000 since opening our own shop Portland Tool Peddler in 2021. We’re proud that over 2,000 of these tools have been repaired through warranty service at no cost to our customers. We live just a couple of miles from our shop and truly love giving back to our neighbors.
